Japanese Green Beans with Sesame Sauce (Gomae Sauce)
A simple way of dressing vegetables that will become your favourite! Toasted Sesame seeds form the basis of this salty/sweet and addictive sauce for Green Beans and other vegetables.

Ingredients
- 500 g green beans
- 4 tbsp sesame seeds
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- Ice Water

Top and tail the green beans and boil water for them.

Toast the sesame seeds
Get a dry frying pan and toast the sesame seeds for a few minutes, or until golden. Remove from the pan immediately so they don't continue cooking and burn! Crush them up with a mortar.

Make the sauce
Add the soy sauce, sesame seeds and sugar in to a small bowl and mix.

Serve
Drain the beans and toss with the sesame sauce. Serve.
