Information we collect

We collect the account details you provide, such as your username, email address, name, profile photo, and authentication provider. We also store the recipes, photos, notes, comments, cooking history, collections, grocery lists, events, and other content you choose to add.

We collect basic technical and usage information needed to operate and secure the service, including IP address, browser or device information, request logs, crash reports, and product events such as signups, imports, saves, forks, and shares.

How we use information

We use your information to provide Recipe History, authenticate your account, save and synchronize your content, process imports and AI features, provide support, prevent abuse, improve reliability, and understand whether product features are useful.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your private recipes to advertise to you.

Service providers

We use service providers only where needed to run Recipe History. These may include Cloudflare for network delivery and security, Anthropic for AI-assisted recipe processing, Sentry for error monitoring, Plausible for privacy-focused analytics, Stripe for payments, and your selected sign-in provider. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

Payment card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored by Recipe History.

Sharing and public content

Recipes and profile information you mark public can be viewed and shared by others. Private content remains limited to you and people or teams you explicitly share it with. We may disclose information when required by law or when necessary to protect users, the service, or the public.

Retention, security, and your choices

We retain account information and content while your account is active and as reasonably necessary for backups, security, legal obligations, and dispute resolution. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

You can change privacy and notification settings in your profile, export individual recipes, or delete your account and owned data from Account Settings. See our account deletion instructions.

Children

Recipe History is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the service changes. We will post the updated date here and provide additional notice when a change is material.
